As part of 16 Days of Activism, meet Naheed Afridi. Hailing from newly merged areas of the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in Pakistan, belongs Naheed Afridi, IVLP alumna who stands as a beacon of empowerment and resilience. Armed with a master’s degree in philosophy, Naheed has dedicated the last thirteen years to championing the rights of women in ex-FATA. As the founding member of Takkra Qabali Khawnday, the first-ever network for women’s political empowerment in ex-FATA, Naheed has been at the forefront of transformative change. Leading the FATA reform process, conducting press conferences, and rallying protesters, she shattered norms. Naheed’s historic run for a general seat in the provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa marked a milestone, challenging stereotypes in a male-dominated society.

Through education and media campaigns, Naheed aims to motivate women to actively participate in the electoral process, fostering inclusive democratic governance.
Naheed Afridi’s journey is not just a story; it’s a testament to the transformative power of one woman’s dedication. As she continues to pave the way for women’s rights and political inclusion, let’s celebrate Naheed’s indomitable spirit!
