Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) conferences are highly anticipated events that bring together Pakistani alumni of U.S. exchange programs for engaging discussions, networking, and knowledge sharing. PUAN conferences feature a diverse range of topics relevant to the participants’ fields of expertise and the socio-economic landscape of Pakistan. To support an enabled economic growth, development, and inclusivity in Pakistan, the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) conducts five-day residential Master Classes on various themes of national interest. These Master Classes aim to connect young, emerging mid-career, and senior alumni from various fields. Alumni from across Pakistan are selected through a competitive application process to participate in these thematic in-residency masterclasses.

The Master Classes are well-structured and encompass a range of activities, including in-depth training, group workshops, discussions, and panel talks.

The Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) Internship Program is a 12-week paid internship program that provides undergraduate and recently graduated students with the opportunity to gain work experience in a professional setting. The PUAN Internship Program is a collaborative effort between the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) and the U.S. Mission in Pakistan and is open to all PUAN members who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program or who have graduated within the past two years.

Interns are paired with PUAN mentors who work in a variety of fields, including government, business, non-profit organizations, and academia.

The Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) Country Projects brings together Pakistani alumni of U.S. exchange programs from all the chapters to collaborate on addressing key challenges in Pakistan around a common theme.


Each year, the members of National Executive Committee (NEC) come up with a theme and after agreeing on the timeline of execution, all chapter simultaneously roll-out their actives for bringing together positive social changes towards sustainable development.

PUAN Engagements

The Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) engages its members through various activities and initiatives, facilitated by the U.S. Consulates of Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar, to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and community development.

PUAN, in partnership with the U.S. Consulates, organizes networking events, exclusively for Pakistani alumni of U.S. exchange programs. These engagements provide a platform for alumni to connect, exchange ideas, and build professional relationships, with the support and guidance of the consulate.

The U.S. Consulates’-based engagements also include capacity-building programs tailored to the needs of alumni. Training sessions, mentorship programs, and leadership development workshops are designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of participants, empowering them to excel in their fields and contribute effectively to Pakistan’s development.

In line with the U.S. Mission’s focus on community service, PUAN encourages alumni to actively participate in volunteer activities, social impact projects, and advocacy campaigns. These engagements align with the U.S. Mission to support initiatives that bring about positive change and empower communities in Pakistan.
