Faryal Najeeb’s Impactful Journey: Bridging Gaps and Fostering Inclusion

Under our 16 Days of Activism, meet Faryal Najeeb, a seasoned professional in youth development & NGO management, and an IVLP alumna. With a solid seven-year track record of enhancing the capacity, economic standing, and community engagement of Pakistani youth, Faryal found herself at the forefront of change working with Lincoln Corners Pakistan. Her role extended beyond the ordinary, where she led programs on crucial topics such as STEM education, gender-based violence, CVE, employability skills, and civic education. Not content with just that, Faryal also collaborated with organizations committed to empowering underprivileged teenagers through practical workshops.

In the pursuit of her passion for community development, Faryal initiated the ‘Hey say Huqooq – Right to Know’ project funded by Alumni Impact Awards. The project, named after the Urdu letter ‘hey’ and the word ‘huqooq’ meaning ‘right,’ aimed to educate young people about their fundamental rights as outlined in Pakistan’s constitution and human rights declaration.

Through digital content and bilingual workshops in English and Urdu, Faryal ensured the project’s accessibility to a diverse audience. But her commitment didn’t stop at general rights awareness; she aimed to instill a civic sense within the community. Recognizing specific challenges faced by women, people with disabilities, and the transgender community, Faryal redirected her focus to the theme of ‘Nondiscrimination with Respect to Access to Public Places for Gender.’ This strategic shift aimed to highlight the obstacles these communities often encounter when accessing public spaces.

The project’s first two videos, ‘Right to Information’ and ‘Nondiscrimination with Respect to Access to Public Places for Gender,’ have been carefully planned with completed scripts, showcasing Faryal’s dedication and thoughtful approach.
