Karachi Chapter Alumni Rekindle Bonds at Grand Reunion

Laughter, tears, and warm embraces filled the air as hundreds of former exchange students reunited at the recent PUAN Karachi Chapter’s Grand Reunion 2024. Held on July 21, 2024, the event was a nostalgic journey back to a time of shared dreams and aspirations. Under the theme of “Diversity and Inclusion,” old friends, now seasoned professionals, reconnected, sharing stories of their lives since their transformative experiences in the United States. From bustling city streets to quiet college campuses, their paths had diverged, but their shared bond as alumni brought them back together for a night of cherished memories and renewed friendships.

The evening commenced with a stirring rendition of the national anthem by differently abled students from KVTC. PUAN Country President, Mr. Aamir Khalil, emphasized the significance of exchange programs and the alumni’s contributions to society. Prof. Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah, President of the Karachi Chapter, extended a warm welcome to the attendees and outlined the event’s key objectives.

The Honorable U.S. Consulate General Karachi, Mr. Conard Tribble, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He underscored the pivotal role of exchange students in strengthening U.S.-Pakistan relations and commended the moderated panel discussion on promoting diversity and inclusion. Accompanying Mr. Tribble were Michael Chadwick (Public Affairs Officer) and Anastasia Kolivas (Cultural Affairs Officer) from the U.S. Consulate Karachi.

Cultural performances, musical acts, and an engaging session with a mind mapping confusionist added to the evening’s vibrancy. Sabahat Noman and Tasawar Careem Baig’s exceptional hosting skills contributed significantly to the event’s lively atmosphere. The dedicated volunteer team deserves immense credit for their flawless execution of the reunion.

The event provided a cherished platform for alumni to reconnect, reminisce, and forge new bonds. It was an opportunity to reunite with seasoned professionals, old friends, and to relive fond memories of U.S. Exchange Programs.
