PUAN Alum’s Animated Masterpiece Takes Pakistan by Storm

We’re incredibly proud to share the phenomenal success of our very own One Beat alum, Usman Riaz! His directorial debut, The Glassworker, has captured hearts and minds both domestically and internationally.

This groundbreaking animated feature film, the first of its kind in Pakistan, has been lauded for its stunning hand-drawn animation, powerful music, and thought-provoking anti-war message. Released in late July, The Glassworker has already earned an impressive 10 million rupees in its opening weekend.

Usman’s journey as a filmmaker began with his participation in the 2012 Embassy Islamabad One Beat program. This experience undoubtedly played a pivotal role in shaping his artistic vision and inspiring his passion for storytelling.

It took nearly a decade of dedication and hard work to bring The Glassworker to life, and the result is a truly remarkable cinematic achievement. The film has already garnered international recognition, premiering at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June.

We encourage you to watch the film trailer and read the glowing reviews in Dawn and The News International. Let’s celebrate Usman’s extraordinary accomplishment and support his future endeavors!
