From Psychology to Startups: Qudsia’s Internship Journey at NIC Peshawar

As part of the PUAN National Internship Program 2025, Qudsia Bano (Academy for Women Entrepreneurs 2024 alumna from KP Chapter) completed a three-month internship with the Marketing, Communication, and Partnerships team at NIC Peshawar. Currently in the final year of her BS in Psychology at SBBWU Peshawar, Qudsia found the experience to be both creatively fulfilling and professionally transformative.

During her internship, she contributed to social media content design, campaign development, and event coverage, while also engaging with startups within the NIC ecosystem. She applied concepts from her academic training in psychology, such as communication, teamwork, and understanding human behavior, to enhance audience engagement and create meaningful content.

A highlight of her internship was working on an upcoming campaign, where she assisted in post design, content writing, and session organization. These responsibilities not only broadened her technical skills but also gave her a hands-on understanding of strategic communication in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.

Qudsia credits her mentor, Farhad Shafqat Qayyum (IVLP 2024), for providing guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback that made her internship both insightful and rewarding.

For Qudsia, this internship became more than just a professional opportunity. It strengthened her creativity, expanded her confidence, and offered her meaningful exposure to Pakistan’s growing startup ecosystem. She describes it as a “valuable milestone” in her academic and professional journey, one that she carries forward with gratitude and renewed determination.
