Peshawar Entrepreneurship Program Launches to Equip Young Entrepreneurs with Business Skills

The Peshawar Entrepreneurship Program (PEP) officially commenced with an Entrepreneurship Capacity Building Workshop, bringing together 60 aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage startup founders from across Peshawar. The initiative is supported by the U.S. Mission to Pakistan in partnership with the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) under the PUAN Grants Program and is led by Subhash Chander, an International Exchange and Leadership Program (IELP 2024) alumnus.

The workshop marked the beginning of a structured entrepreneurship journey designed to strengthen workforce readiness by equipping young Pakistanis with the knowledge and practical skills needed to build sustainable businesses and contribute to the country’s growing innovation ecosystem.

Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in interactive learning sessions covering the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, opportunity identification, entrepreneurial mindset, business planning, and financial literacy. Practical group activities and collaborative discussions encouraged participants to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and explore innovative approaches to solving real-world business challenges.

The program places a strong emphasis on developing entrepreneurial thinking alongside practical business skills. Participants gained valuable insights into identifying market opportunities, transforming ideas into viable business models, and understanding the financial considerations essential for launching and sustaining successful ventures.

Beyond technical knowledge, the workshop fostered a collaborative learning environment where participants built connections with fellow entrepreneurs, exchanged experiences, and established networks that will continue to support them throughout the PEP journey.

By the end of the workshop, participants reported greater confidence in pursuing entrepreneurial ventures and a stronger understanding of the steps required to develop sustainable businesses. The interactive format also encouraged participants to think creatively, embrace innovation, and recognize entrepreneurship as a pathway for economic growth and job creation.

Through the PUAN Grants Program, alumni continue to transform the knowledge and experiences gained through U.S. exchange programs into community-led initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, workforce readiness, and economic opportunity across Pakistan. The Peshawar Entrepreneurship Program reflects this commitment by empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs with the skills, networks, and confidence needed to contribute to a more innovative and prosperous future.
