Abdul Ali, our Global Ugrad 2020 recipient has recently completed Alumni Small Grant (ASG) funded by PUAN and U.S. Mission to Pakistan. The purpose of this initiative was to encourage girls of underprivileged areas of the Pakistan regarding significance of this theme. The project also aimed at developing STEM skills in the students studying at the college and university levels. The project has tried to put it’s due share in reducing the gender gap in education and developing skills in the students, so that they will be able to solve real-life problems in the field of STEM.
Abdul Ali believes that future belongs to STEM job market so therefore, STEM Education is the perfect way of bringing change and devising solutions of the real time problems that world is facing right now, like climate change and uplifting economy by entrepreneurship etc. with the inclusion of critical thinking and creativity.
Ammar Zareef, one of the project’s beneficiaries shared that by learning courses on the website of stem education, he is now able to think critically on different scenarios of life including in education. ‘I never knew that something amazing like stem education exists’ he shared. Another participant of trainings Misha Ali shared that she now feels that STEM education brings all fields of study on one table to solve problems.
