Celebrating “Echoes from the Earth” at the Alumni Small Grant Closing Ceremony

We’re thrilled to share highlights from the vibrant closing ceremony of “Echoes from the Earth,” an Alumni Small Grant project, held at Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Auditorium Islamabad on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

Community Engagement: With over 100 attendees, predominantly women, the event fostered a diverse and inclusive environment. This project, a collaboration between the U.S. Mission in Pakistan and PUAN, exemplifies the power of partnerships in driving positive change.

Creative Expression: Led by Safeer Ullah Khan, an IVLP Alumnus, “Echoes from the Earth” aimed to celebrate Earth Day 2024 through artistic endeavors. From captivating musical performances to thought-provoking dramatic readings, the event showcased a fusion of talent and passion for environmental advocacy.

Special Guest: Kelly Ryan, Public Diplomacy Officer, U.S. Embassy Islamabad, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Kelly’s engagement with art displays and discussions with youth volunteers underscored the importance of grassroots initiatives in driving environmental consciousness.

Inspiring Dialogue: The event featured readings from both celebrated American writers and participants of project workshops, amplifying voices and perspectives on environmental stewardship.

Celebrating Achievements: The ceremony culminated with the distribution of certificates to project participants and performers, acknowledging their dedication and contribution to the cause.

Impactful Initiatives: Through Writing and Art Workshops, “Echoes from the Earth” facilitated meaningful dialogue and action towards environmental conservation. This project exemplifies our collective commitment to preserving our planet for future generations.
