Hailing from the vibrant city of Wah Cantt, Dr. Sajid Ali Yousaf Zai, our TEA alumnus 2011, took the responsibility of enhancing students’ ability to solve problems, working collaboratively, and becoming team players. With a burning passion for empowering marginalized youth, he set out on a journey that would leave a profound impact on countless lives.

Having earned his doctoral degree in Educational Statistics and Research Methods from the prestigious University of Arkansas, USA, Dr. Sajid had a wealth of experience in teaching, research, and training at national and international levels. His dedication to nurturing young minds led him to become an approved HEC resource person, conducting faculty development programs for various institutions.

Dr. Sajid’s vision was clear – he wanted to equip the youth with the essential skills for the 21st century. In a world driven by information and digital technology, he believed that these skills would pave the way for a brighter future. His Alumni Small Grant (ASG) project, titled “Skill Development for Marginalized Youth to Cope with 21st Century Challenges,” aimed to reach 60 direct beneficiaries, including 30 young men and 30 strong women. But the impact didn’t stop there – it extended to 2400 indirect beneficiaries, embracing 1200 young men and 1200 resilient women.

For 10 weeks, Dr. Sajid poured his heart and soul into the project, conducting workshops that focused on learning, literacy, and life skills. The transformation was remarkable – participants discovered the power of critical thinking, collaboration, and effective communication.

As the days passed, the impact became evident. Tayyaba, an 18-year-old from Wah Cantt, shared, “Before this workshop, I planned to learn extra skills after my degree. But now, I feel inspired to start learning alongside my studies. Thank you, Dr. Sajid, for igniting this fire within me.”

Faiza, a 19-year-old from Wah Cantt, was equally moved, “This session was truly enlightening. We learned so much and can’t wait to share this knowledge with our friends and the next generation. Dr. Sajid and PUAN, we can’t thank you enough for this amazing journey.”

Collaborating with the U.S. Mission and PUAN was a dream come true for Dr. Sajid. The support and encouragement gave wings to his vision. As he looks to the future, he envisions even more impactful activities with the backing of the U.S. mission and PUAN.

Dr. Sajid’s project continues to shine as a beacon of hope, inspiring marginalized youth to dream big and embrace the challenges of the 21st century with confidence. Through his dedication, the young minds of Pakistan are now equipped to face the world with resilience and determination, creating a better future for themselves and their communities.
