Empowering Youth Through Economic Literacy and Digital Skills

As part of the Youth Economic Literacy and Digital Awareness Initiative in South Punjab, supported by the U.S. Mission to Pakistan in partnership with the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN), project implementer and IELP 2024 alumna Ms. Aqsa Ahmad successfully conducted two orientation sessions to launch the project.

The first activity, a Student Focal Persons Briefing and Orientation Session, engaged 10 participants (7 male and 3 female), who were introduced to the project’s objectives and briefed on their roles and responsibilities in supporting its implementation.

This was followed by a Stakeholder Briefing and Orientation Session, which brought together 120 participants (86 male and 34 female), including students and key stakeholders. The session provided an overview of the project’s goals and expected outcomes, while highlighting the importance of strengthening economic literacy and digital awareness among youth in South Punjab.

The event was attended by Mr. Muhammad Asif, Regional Manager, PVTC, and Dr. Shabbar Atique, Vice Chancellor, NFC Institute of Engineering & Technology, who encouraged participants and underscored the value of empowering young people with the skills needed to succeed in an increasingly digital economy.

Through the PUAN Grants Program, alumni continue to lead impactful community initiatives that foster education, innovation, and stronger U.S.-Pakistan ties.
