On June 28, Jasmine Fatima, a 2012 Gloabl UGrad alumna from Parachinar in Kurram Agency, conducted an educational campaign for cancer patients at Agency Head Quarter Hospital Parachinar in Kurram Agency.  The area, bordering Afghanistan and North Waziristan Agency, suffers from terrorism and sectarian violence that cripple its socioeconomic and political development.  Jasmine fielded questions about U.S. government exchange programs and alumni programs in rural and underdeveloped communities in KP and FATA.

Global UGrad alumnus Ahsan Gul utlized alumni funds to develop the leadership skills and critical-thinking abilities of more than 500 students at a local government-run secondary school in KP’s Mardan district.  Ahsan’s interactive programs fostered volunteerism and community engagement in youth.  He also shared information about exchange programs and academic scholarship opportunities available to students.  More than 550 students, parents, and community elders participated.
