The auditorium of a famous hotel at Hyderabad Indus Hotel was buzzing with the friendly chatter and laughter. That was the scene last week where over 100 PUAN Jamshoro Chapter alumni – from different adjoining districts and exchange programs – reunited for their annual bash. It was a reunion for reviving olde memories, catching up with mates & buddies, making new connections, and celebrating all things which make PUAN special and the largest alumni network of USG funded exchanges on planet earth. The energy was witness-worthy as the seasoned veterans were swapping stories with recent graduates of exchange programs, sharing tips and tricks, and sparking ideas that could change the world (well, maybe at least a corner of it!). A panel discussion on the impact of exchange programs was a real eye-opener, followed by inspiring success stories from fellow alumni. It was a powerful reminder that these programs can seriously rock your world, and that giving back is pretty awesome too.
Of course, it wasn’t all work and no play. We had some amazing guests like Anastasia Kolivas from the U.S. Consulate in Karachi and Rajesh Goswami, the president of PUAN Jamshoro Chapter, who pumped up the crowd by talking about the incredible things alumni achieve and the ongoing support from the PUAN team and U.S. Mission. The evening came alive with cultural performances with the audience really enjoyed.
But the real highlight? A video that showcased the Jamshoro Chapter’s epic achievements over the past two years was also reeled at the reunion. It was like a walk down memory lane, filled with all the cool projects they’ve been working on. The room erupted in cheers as the video ended – a collective “high five” for all their hard work and impact.
The evening wrapped up with a delicious food, and a big thank you from Oojala Tasneem, the Chapter’s VP. It wasn’t just a reunion; it was a celebration of the amazing PUAN Jamshoro Chapter family. As goodbyes were exchanged and promises of future meetups were made, one thing was clear: this reunion reignited the spirit of friendship, collaboration, and of course, building strong Pakistan-U.S. ties.
Here’s to many more reunions like this one!
