Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) South Punjab Chapter Holds Successful Annual Reunion

PUAN South Punjab Chapter’s annual reunion was a resounding success, attracting around 150 alumni from various U.S. exchange programs. The event showcased the chapter’s remarkable organizational skills, particularly considering the limited time they had to prepare following the issuance of the NOC.

The program commenced with an ice-breaking activity setting a warm and welcoming tone for the gathering. The chapter president’s welcome note further enhanced the convivial atmosphere, and the Chief Guest Monica’s address, played on a large screen, was warmly received by the audience.

Following the ASG presentation about funding opportunities by Waqar A Khan, Assistant Manager, PUAN, the event took a compelling turn with a presentation on anti- harassment, delivered by Dr. Abdul Saboor, CEO of Lodhran Pilot Project (a local NGO) and an IVLP alumnus from 2012. His engaging presentation resonated with the attendees and sparked insightful discussions.

To add a touch of cultural vibrancy, the program included a short cultural performance and a theoretical lpay. A musical performance further enlivened the atmosphere, providing a delightful contrast to the more serious presentations. The event concluded with a simple yet enjoyable lunch.

The presence of PUAN Country President Sahibzada Aamir Khalil, who traveled from Peshawar to attend the event, underscored the importance of the occasion. Additionally, the presence of North Punjab Chapter President Mr. Zain Majid and former president of Giligit Chapter, Ms. Roohani Barkat, from Lahore demonstrated the strong network and support within the PUAN community.

Overall, the PUAN South Punjab Chapter’s annual reunion was a testament to the chapter’s dedication and organizational prowess, particularly considering the challenges they faced with limited preparation time. The event successfully brought together alumni from various U.S. exchange programs, fostering connections and celebrating the shared experiences that bind them together.
