The chapter activity, focusing on the power of storytelling and its potential to promote peace, was a remarkable event organized by the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN). It conducted by Ihtesham Alam and Furqan Khattak and underscored the importance of storytelling as a catalyst for peace and harmony in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The event commenced with Mr. Muhammad Hussain Jan providing an introduction to PUAN and acknowledging the significant contributions of the U.S. Mission in Pakistan. He set the stage for an engaging discussion on the subject of storytelling.

Mr. Muhammad Hussain Jan’s opening remarks paved the way for Miss. Rabia Shah, a Visiting Lecturer at IM Sciences University, Peshawar, who shared her invaluable insights on the power of storytelling. She emphasized the importance of open forums that encouraged attendees to exchange ideas about using storytelling as a tool for social change and conflict resolution within the region.

During the event, Rabia Shah presented a picture to the participants and instructed them to create both a positive and a negative version of the narrative, which they then shared with the group. This hands-on experience vividly illustrated the role of storytelling in shaping narratives and influencing our perceptions. It highlighted the potential of storytelling as a means to bridge gaps and promote peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The activity concluded with Ihtesham Alam, a Visiting Lecturer at Government Degree College Hayatabad, awarding certificates to the participants, acknowledging their active participation and commitment to the cause.
