We are excited to introduce Jamal Abdul Nasir, one of the 13 grantees finalized under the PUAN Grants Cycle 2025. A proud Global UGRAD alumnus from the 2015 cohort and an active member of the PUAN Quetta Chapter, Jamal is preparing to launch a dynamic initiative that blends culture with community-building.
His project, titled “Cultural & Heritage Evening Networking Festival, Balochistan” will celebrate the province’s diverse traditions through storytelling, music, and traditional dances such as Chap and Attan. Designed under the PUAN Connects theme, this festival will act as a bridge between generations, creating a welcoming space where PUAN alumni can reconnect, share experiences, and build both professional and personal relationships. By engaging in these cultural expressions, the event aims not only to preserve Balochistan’s rich heritage but also to foster a strong sense of belonging and deepen alumni engagement across the region.
Jamal’s commitment to community development goes far beyond this project. Currently working on a UNHCR-supported initiative focused on Afghan refugees, he is driven by a belief that alleviating the suffering of vulnerable and marginalized populations is essential for lasting peace and inclusive progress. His work focuses on addressing the root causes of displacement and inequality, with particular attention to abolishing gender-based violence, ending child labor, and promoting harmony across gender, age, and racial lines.
As Jamal prepares to bring his vision to life in the coming months, we look forward to sharing updates from his festival and the positive impact it will have on both the PUAN network and local communities.
