PUAN Connects Spotlight: Technology-Friendly Society

Mr. Meherban Karim, is our dedicated PUAN alumnus from the Gilgit Chapter who holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and brings over 20 years of experience in community mobilization, project implementation, operations management, and grant monitoring. He is our alumnus of ‘Strengthening Civil Society Organizations (2019)’. As a recipient of the PUAN Connects grant, he will be leading a transformative project titled “Technology-Friendly Society,” aimed at equipping the youth of Hunza with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in a digital world.

Through this initiative, Meherban will be enhancing access to quality education in remote areas via digital learning platforms and developing future-ready skills in AI, data science, and coding. Under this grant, Meherban also intends to support local entrepreneurship by promoting e-commerce and digital marketing, introducing renewable energy solutions for sustainable development, and raising awareness about cybersecurity and ethical digital practices. In addition, the project will also leverage virtual and augmented reality to promote Hunza’s rich tourism potential and encourage innovation in STEM fields through robotics and tech education.
