PUAN North AJK Chapter Reunites to Celebrate Alumni Impact and Exchange Journeys

Members of the PUAN North AJK Chapter recently gathered for their Annual Chapter Reunion, celebrating shared journeys, lifelong connections, and the transformative power of U.S.–Pakistan exchange programs. The event brought together nearly 80 PUAN alumni from across the region, making it a memorable evening of reflection, learning, and renewed collaboration.

The reunion was honored by the presence of Peter Moran, Executive Director, and Mazhar Q. Awan, Director Alumni Affairs at the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP). Both speakers addressed the audience and highlighted the enduring impact of U.S.–Pakistan exchange programs in shaping leadership, professional excellence, and people-to-people ties.

Alumni were also addressed virtually by Natalie A. Baker, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy Islamabad, who commended PUAN members for continuing to apply the values and learnings gained through their respective exchange experiences.

Adding further inspiration, Nasir Jamal Khattak, Vice Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, shared his personal Fulbright Program journey and reflected on how it shaped his academic vision and leadership path.

The reunion also featured powerful alumni reflections:

  • Dr. Anum Kabir (Academy for Women Entrepreneurs & Sister2Sister alumna) spoke about benefiting from PUAN’s National Internship Program 2025.
  • Syeda Muhadasa Naqvi (UGRAD Program & AWE alumna) described UGRAD as a “once-in-a-lifetime, life-changing experience.”
  • Umme Amin reflected on the lasting impact of PUAN and her exchange program on her professional growth and career trajectory.

The Annual Reunion reaffirmed the strength of the PUAN alumni network in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and its continued role in fostering leadership, collaboration, and positive change. For more photos, click here.
