PUAN Central Punjab Chapter Hosts Annual Alumni Reunion in Lahore
The PUAN Central Punjab Chapter hosted its annual reunion in Lahore on April 19, 2025, bringing together over 250 alumni from various U.S. exchange programs. The event featured U.S. Consul General CG Hawkins, who praised the alumni for their leadership and contributions to strengthening ties between Pakistan and the U.S. Attendees enjoyed a Lincoln Corner booth, a video presentation highlighting PUAN opportunities, and inspiring alumni success stories. A group photo and hi-tea provided a chance for networking and celebration, reinforcing the strong community and collaboration within the PUAN network. Read more here

PUAN Sukkur Annual Reunion: A Celebration of Change-Makers and Collaboration
The PUAN Sukkur Annual Reunion brought together 78 alumni to celebrate their impact as change-makers. We were honored to host Deputy Consul General Amy Hood and Mike Chadwick, whose remarks highlighted the power of alumni collaboration in strengthening 🇵🇰-🇺🇸 ties.
Keynote speakers included:
- Abid Lashari (Legislative Fellowship Program), a champion for human rights and disability inclusion.
- Mohsin Ali (SUSI), a youth advocate for civic education and public policy change.
- Dr. Tehmina Mangan, VC of Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, a leader in rural development and education.
The reunion was a powerful reminder that PUAN is not just a network, but a movement.

PUAN Member and Fulbright Scholar Shehzad Hameed Ahmad Selected as Jury Member for Cannes Corporate TV Awards 2025
Celebrated Pakistani filmmaker and investigative journalist Shehzad Hameed Ahmad, a distinguished Fulbright Scholar and active member of the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN), has been selected as a jury member for the Cannes Corporate TV Awards 2025, set to be held in Austria later this year.
The Cannes Corporate TV Awards are among the most prestigious global platforms recognizing excellence in corporate films, online media, and documentaries. This year, the international jury comprises over 100 independent judges, including Oscar® and Emmy® winners, industry leaders, and acclaimed creatives from around the world. Ahmad’s selection to this high-profile panel is a notable recognition of his outstanding contributions to global documentary filmmaking.

Welcome Dr. Peter Moran as the New Executive Director of USEFP
We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Peter Moran as the new Executive Director of the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP). With nearly 30 years of experience in international education and cultural anthropology, Dr. Moran brings a wealth of knowledge to the role.
Before joining USEFP, he served as the Director of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program at the Institute of International Education (IIE) in Washington, DC, from 2019 to 2025. His career also includes leadership roles as Director of Study Abroad at the University of Washington and Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission in Nepal.
Dr. Moran holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Washington, and his notable publication, Buddhism Observed, reflects his extensive fieldwork in Kathmandu.
We look forward to his leadership in advancing educational opportunities and cultural exchanges between the United States and Pakistan.
