Alumni of PUAN Jamshoro Chapter Gather for Annual Reunion

Consul General Scott Urbom attended the PUAN Jamshoro reunion with over 150 alumni to celebrate the immense power of alumni networks and the transformative impact of U.S.  exchange programs.  The event provided an opportunity to reconnect, share stories, and promote collaboration, showcasing how PUAN alumni are driving meaningful change in their communities.

Highlights of PUAN Karachi Chapter Annual Reunion

Relive the energy of the PUAN Karachi Reunion 2025! 140+ alumni joined for powerful day of connection, inspiration, and impact. From a stirring keynote by U.S. Consul General Karachi Mr. Scott Urbom to heartfelt alumni stories by Amina Ansari, Salman Tariq, and Rahmeen Urooj Zaidi — this reunion was a celebration of shared journeys and future possibilities. PUAN Alum Elected President of New York’s Largest College Student Union

Chaudhry Faisal Mahmood, alumnus of PUAN’s Legal Incubators Program 2016, has been elected President of the Student Union at Suffolk County College, the largest campus in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. Representing over 25,000 students, Faisal’s victory follows a two-week campaign driven by community engagement and student empowerment. Currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice Science, Faisal’s leadership journey is a testament to the power of student voices and cross-cultural impact. Read more here.

Riaz Baloch Appointed Focal Person for Disability Affairs in Balochistan

Riaz Baloch, a passionate disability rights activist and alumnus of the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN), has been officially appointed by the Government of Balochistan, Social Welfare Department, as the Focal Person to the Chief Minister for Disability Affairs. Based in Quetta, Riaz leads The Special Ones (TSO) – an organization working exclusively for the empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities in Balochistan. Read more here.

From Islamabad to the ICJ Bench: PUAN Member’s Journey to Jessup 2025

Muhammad Ameer Hamza Khan, a 2021 SUSI alumnus from Islamabad, recently represented Pakistan and PUAN on a global stage as a Judge at the 2025 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C.—the world’s largest moot court event. Ameer had the rare honor of serving alongside sitting judges of the UN International Court of Justice, including Joan Donoghue, Georg Nolte, and Juan Manuel Gómez Robledo. Currently an LLM candidate at Lincoln University, UK, Ameer credits his professors at UMass for their support. PUAN celebrates his achievement and wishes him continued success! Read more here.
