PUAN Kickstarts National Internship Program 2025
PUAN proudly launches its National Internship Program 2025! This year, 39 aspiring young professionals have been paired with 39 accomplished PUAN alumni mentors from across Pakistan. Over the course of the three months’ period of internship program, these interns will gain hands-on experience in their respective field, from education and academia to media, tech, and beyond. Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy, U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Lisa Swenarski, commended the PUAN community at the virtual opening ceremony for making this program a remarkable success. Highlights of PUAN Reunion 2025: Central Punjab Chapter
Over 250 alumni from the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) Central Punjab Chapter came together for an unforgettable annual reunion, a celebration of shared experiences, meaningful connections, and community impact! U.S. Consul General Hawkins joined the event to honor the spirit of exchange and collaboration. Alumni shared inspiring stories of how their U.S. exchange journeys are helping them lead in fields like climate action, interfaith harmony, and artificial intelligence. Watch the video here.
CG Hawkins Engages with PUAN Members Driving Community Impact in Jhelum
In Jhelum, U.S. Consul General Lahore, Ms. Kristin K. Hawkins, met with members of the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network who are making a difference through community initiatives focused on health and education. Alumni of U.S. exchange programs are transforming their experiences into action by helping build safer, healthier communities across Pakistan. A great example of 🇺🇸🇵🇰 collaboration driving shared progress!
Empowering Communities and Building Connections in Attock
U.S. Consul General Lahore Ms. Kristin K. Hawkins visited Attock, where she met with members of the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network and local business representatives. It was inspiring to see how 🇵🇰 alumni are applying knowledge from their 🇺🇸 exchange experiences to drive meaningful change in their communities. CG Hawkins also discussed opportunities with local entrepreneurs to further strengthen U.S.-Pak economic ties.
PUAN Connects Spotlight: AJK Alumni Link Up
Walija Nisar is leading the “AJK Alumni LinkUp” project under the PUAN Connects grant. She is alumna of the English Access Program, Summer Sisters Exchange, and Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE). Her initiative brings together alumni from all six districts of AJK through virtual and in-person sessions focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and mentorship. The project aims to strengthen alumni ties and build a long-term platform for collaboration and community development. Read more here.
PUAN Connects Spotlight: Empowering Youth Through Education, Global Exchange, and Emerging Technologies
Muhammad Nadeem is leading a project “Empowering Youth Through Education, Global Exchange, and Emerging Technologies” under the PUAN Connects grant. He is alumnus of the Teaching Excellence & Achievement (TEA) Program Evolution (2018) and an active member of the PUAN Gwadar Chapter. Hailing from District Kech, Turbat, Nadeem is a passionate educator and social activist committed to uplifting underserved communities. His initiative focuses on guiding secondary school students in Turbat by introducing them to U.S. exchange opportunities, offering career counseling, and promoting responsible use of technology. Through this project, Nadeem is nurturing the next generation of leaders, building bridges to global education and digital literacy. Read more here.
PUAN Connects Spotlight: Technology-Friendly Society
Meherban Karim Abdul is all set to lead the “Technology-Friendly Society” project under the PUAN Connects grant. He is our alumnus of Strengthening Civil Society Organizations (2019) and member of the PUAN Gilgit Chapter. With 20+ years of experience in community development, Meherban will be empowering youth in Hunza by expanding digital learning, teaching AI and coding skills, promoting e-commerce, and introducing renewable energy and cybersecurity awareness. His project will also leverage VR/AR to boost tourism and supports STEM innovation thus shaping a tech-forward future for the region’s youth. Read more here.
