Raina Sets a High Bar for Fellow Alumni

At just the age of 18, Raina Khan, our Summer Sisters alumna, has come forward as a spirit of sustainable-positive-change not only in Pakistan but also in various countries abroad.

In 2020, Raina got recognized with the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts by a charity established in memory of Princess Diana by her two Sons Prince Harry and Prince William – The Diana Award. Following the Diana Award, Raina was bestowed with the Tamgha e Fakhr e Imtiaz by the Governor of Punjab in recognition of her efforts to bring a change in her society while representing the positive side of Pakistan on global platforms.

Raina Khan has already been voted as one of the 50 most influential women in Pakistan thanks to her efforts in female empowerment, health and hygiene, free education, and social entrepreneurship. As founder and CEO of the ‘Zenana Foundation’, a youth non-profit, Raina has worked with hundreds of fundraisers and volunteers around the globe to set up free schools, start a skills training program for women and build an online marketplace for trainees to sell sustainable garments. These all facilitate self-sufficiency for young girls whilst also promoting environmental protection and sustainability.

She also had the honor of serving as the Cultural Ambassador of Pakistan in 2017 and as the Global Youth Ambassador in 2018. Raina has also represented Pakistan and its women at prestigious organizations like Microsoft, World Bank, Institute of Peace, Chicago City Halls, etc.

Keep shining Raina as sky is just the beginning for the amazing people like you!
