Strengthening Connections: The 2025 Annual PUAN Karachi Reunion

The 2025 Annual PUAN Karachi Reunion brought together alumni and officials to celebrate shared experiences and build stronger professional networks. Held at the Marriott Hotel in Karachi, the event saw 140 participants, including alumni and U.S. officials.

Event Highlights

The ceremony began with remarks from Scott Urbom, Consul General of the U.S. Consulate General Karachi, followed by a welcome address by Michael J Chadwick, Public Affairs Officer, U.S. Consulate General Karachi. Both speakers emphasized PUAN’s role in strengthening U.S.-Pakistan relations, promoting professional growth, and fostering alumni connections.

The event featured several speakers who shared their journeys and how PUAN has impacted their development:

  • Amina Ansari – Senior Manager at Bridge Factor (Pvt) Limited, discussed her experience with the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on waste-to-energy technologies. She highlighted how PUAN supported sustainable innovations and ongoing learning.
  • Salman Tariq – A Fulbright Master’s Scholar, reflected on his academic journey in the U.S. and how PUAN enriched his leadership and career. He encouraged alumni to use the network’s opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
  • Rahmeen Urooj Zaidi – A former Exchange Ambassador and Access Alumna, spoke about her leadership journey within PUAN. She shared how PUAN enabled her to lead impactful community projects and advocate for educational access and youth development.

These stories highlighted the diversity of the PUAN community and the impact of exchange programs in fostering strong cultural and professional connections between Pakistan and the U.S.

Pre-Reunion Meeting

Before the reunion, a preparatory meeting brought together 30 senior alumni and U.S. officials, including Consul General Scott Urbom and key members like Tony, Mike, Kelly, and Faareha. The meeting focused on strategies to enhance alumni engagement and strengthen the PUAN network, setting the stage for a successful event.

A Celebration of Collaboration

The reunion was a success, providing a platform for alumni and U.S. officials to reconnect, reflect on shared achievements, and discuss future collaborations. It underscored PUAN’s role in fostering lasting relationships and empowering alumni to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
