We are proud to share that Dr. Hira Khalid, a US Fulbright Scholar and Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Forman Christian College University, has been shortlisted as one of the Top 50 talented and inspirational women for the prestigious Häagen-Dazs Rose Project 2024/25. This global initiative celebrates women who have made significant contributions to society and embraces the spirit of #WomenWhoDontHoldBack.
Dr. Khalid, the first and only Pakistani woman to receive this honor, was selected from thousands of nominations worldwide. She joins 50 remarkable women from 17 countries, all of whom will compete for five monetary grants of $20,000 USD each.
Dr. Khalid has an impressive academic and research background. She earned her PhD from GC University Lahore under the Indigenous PhD Scholarship from HEC Pakistan and was recognized as the Best PhD Scholar. During her PhD, she conducted research at the University of Washington, Seattle, under the IRSIP program. More recently, she completed a US Fulbright post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Khalid has teaching and research experience in both public and private universities. She is an HEC-approved research supervisor and has published over 30 research papers in synthetic and medicinal chemistry. She is a life member of the Chemical Society of Pakistan, a Young IUPAC Fellow, and a member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Oil Chemist’s Society (AOCS), the American Chemical Society (ACS), and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
Representing Pakistan on this international platform is a proud moment for Dr. Khalid and for the country. Her dedication to education, research, and societal impact highlights the extraordinary contributions of Pakistani women on a global scale.
