USG Filmmaking Program Alumnus’ Interview Nominated for Emmy Award

We’re thrilled to share the incredible news that our very own PUAN alum, Jawad Sharif, has been nominated for an Emmy Award! His work on the Vice World News interview with Imran Khan has earned him a well-deserved spot in the category of Outstanding Edited Interview.

This is a monumental achievement, not just for Jawad but for the entire PUAN community. His journey is a testament to the power of exchange programs and the transformative impact they can have on young minds.

Jawad’s talent was nurtured right here in Pakistan through the PD Islamabad-funded UCLA Film Training Program in 2016/17. Implemented in partnership with the Humpty Dumpty Institute (HDI), this program equipped emerging filmmakers like Jawad with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the industry.

“I am incredibly grateful to the Humpty Dumpty Institute and the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan for their support,” Jawad shared. “The technical and artistic skills I honed during the HDI program have been instrumental in my career.”

We’re incredibly proud of Jawad and his accomplishments. His Emmy nomination is a shining example of the kind of talent and potential that exists within our alumni network.

Join us in congratulating Jawad and wishing him the best of luck at the Emmy Awards on September 25th in New York!
