Empowering Communities: Rukhsana Ayub’s Tech Journey with PUAN

Hailing from the land of majestic peaks and untouched landscapes, comes Rukhsana Ayub—whose achievements are a testament to the profound impact of determination and communal support. She is a software engineer driven by a deep-seated passion for community development. Her mission to drive an impactful change at the grassroots level, one empowered individual at a time.

Impact of English Access Program on Rukhsana’s Profile

Rukhsana’s journey with the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) began with her participation in Access Alumni program from 2014 to 2016. This experience laid the foundation for her commitment to community development. Subsequently, she became a part of the Pakistan Access Leadership Institute (PALI) in 2015-2016, further honing her leadership skills and vision for social change.

Community Development Initiatives

With a desire to bridge the digital divide in her community, Rukhsana spearheaded establishment of Digital Literacy Center (DLC). This initiative aimed to equip the youth with essential digital skills, opening doors to a world of opportunities in the digital age. Through rigorous training and mentorship, Rukhsana and her team successfully empowered numerous individuals, enabling them to secure certifications and embark on promising career paths. However, Rukhsana’s efforts didn’t stop at digital literacy alone. As a member of the Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board (AKYSB), she orchestrated a range of activities designed to engage and uplift the youth of Gilgit. From career counseling sessions to adventurous hiking expeditions, Rukhsana and her team provided avenues for personal growth and development, steering young minds away from negative influences.

Under the banner of TechScape, Rukhsana took her passion for technology into schools across Gilgit, conducting boot camps to introduce students to the world of computer programming. By igniting a spark of curiosity and creativity, she aimed to empower the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

In her ongoing pursuit of empowerment, Rukhsana has set her sights on uplifting the female segment of her community. Through her own tech startup, she endeavors to provide women with the means to learn and earn from the comfort of their homes, thereby dismantling barriers to economic independence and gender equality.

Rukhsana’s journey epitomizes the spirit of the PUAN Wonder Women, individuals who channel their skills and passion into meaningful initiatives that drive positive change.
