PUAN South AJK Chapter Annual Reunion 2025 – A Close-Knit Gathering of Impact and Inspiration

The Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) South AJK Chapter hosted its much-anticipated Annual Reunion 2025, but this year’s gathering took a refreshingly intimate and interactive form. Instead of a large auditorium or conference hall, the event brought together a carefully selected group of alumni for a warm, roundtable-style discussion — making space for deep conversation, personal reflection, and meaningful connection.

The highlight of the day was the presence of Kelly R. Ryan, Deputy Director of Public Engagement, U.S. Embassy Islamabad (Public Diplomacy Section), who was accompanied by team members from both the U.S. Embassy Islamabad and USEFP–PUAN. Their participation underscored the strong and ongoing commitment of the U.S. Mission to Pakistan toward fostering alumni engagement, collaboration, and community impact.

A Day of Stories, Connections, and Ideas

The reunion opened with a warm welcome from chapter representatives, setting the tone for an atmosphere of trust and open dialogue. Unlike traditional formal events, the roundtable allowed everyone to have a voice — alumni spoke candidly about their U.S. exchange experiences, the transformative skills they had gained, and the ways in which those experiences continue to shape their lives today.

Throughout the session, alumni shared personal and professional success stories that reflected PUAN’s mission:

  • Youth Empowerment & Education: Initiatives aimed at equipping young people with leadership skills and access to learning opportunities.
  • Community Service & Volunteerism: Projects that mobilize local communities for social change.
  • Entrepreneurship & Innovation: Startups and creative ventures inspired by exchange learning.
  • Peacebuilding & Cultural Understanding: Efforts to strengthen inter-community harmony and understanding in AJK.

These stories were not just celebrations of individual achievement — they were examples of how alumni are using their U.S. exchange experiences to make a positive difference in their communities.

Strengthening the Alumni–Diplomatic Connection

The presence of Kelly R. Ryan and his colleagues created a unique bridge between alumni and the diplomatic mission. The discussion touched on future collaboration opportunities, ways to amplify alumni impact, and strategies to strengthen the South AJK Chapter’s role in PUAN’s national network.

As the meeting drew to a close, there was a shared sense of purpose in the room. Alumni left feeling inspired, supported, and more connected — not only to each other but also to the larger vision of U.S.–Pakistan people-to-people engagement.

More Than a Reunion

This year’s PUAN South AJK Chapter Annual Reunion was more than a gathering. It was a reminder that impact is amplified when relationships are personal and conversations are genuine. By creating space for exchange alumni to connect directly with U.S. Embassy and USEFP–PUAN representatives, the chapter reinforced the enduring power of alumni networks: building community, sharing knowledge, and working together for a better future.
