Fulbright 80th Anniversary Connect Brings Together Over 150 Alumni in Islamabad

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) welcomed more than 150 Fulbright and Humphrey alumni to the Fulbright 80th Anniversary Connect in Islamabad, held as part of the global celebrations marking eight decades of the Fulbright Program and the Freedom 250 commemorations.

Opening the event, USEFP Executive Director Dr. Peter Moran highlighted Pakistan’s standing as home to one of the world’s largest Fulbright programs and introduced new activities at the USEFP building designed to encourage alumni engagement, professional networking, and collaboration.

Heidi Smith, Director of Public Engagement at the U.S. Embassy Islamabad, joined as Chief Guest, reaffirming the longstanding U.S.-Pakistan partnership in higher education.

Alumni shared experiences and professional achievements in trade, energy security, entrepreneurship, and technology, demonstrating how U.S. educational exchanges contribute to expertise, innovation, and economic opportunity.

The gathering reinforced the value of alumni networks in connecting professionals across academia, government, civil society, and the private sector, creating opportunities for continued collaboration and the practical application of U.S. exchange experiences.
