As part of the Freedom 250 Speaker Series, the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Mission to Pakistan hosted an engaging session featuring Asjadullah Qureshi, an alumnus of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) 2025 and Deputy Director at the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

Drawing on insights gained during his U.S. exchange experience, Qureshi shared key lessons on integrated energy planning, data-driven decision-making, and institutional coordination, highlighting how these approaches have contributed to building a more resilient, efficient, and reliable energy sector in the United States.

The discussion explored how adapting these best practices could help strengthen Pakistan’s power sector by improving long-term planning, enhancing regulatory coordination, and supporting sustainable economic growth through a more reliable energy system.

The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where participants actively engaged with the speaker on issues related to U.S. energy policy, regulatory frameworks, and sector reforms. The lively discussion reflected strong interest in continued dialogue on energy governance and the role of international exchange programs in advancing knowledge-sharing and policy innovation.
