From Mentorship to Employment: PUAN Internship Program 2025 Marks Significant Career Success

The Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) continues to strengthen its commitment to youth development and professional capacity-building through the PUAN National Internship Program 2025, an initiative designed to connect emerging scholars with leading professionals across Pakistan. This year’s program, spanning over 12-weeks comprised 38 mentors and 39 interns created a dynamic ecosystem of learning, exchange, and mutual growth. These pairs of mentors and interns were from diverse fields like social sciences, STEM, law, media, policy, private sector, academic, development sector and others. PUAN remains committed to nurturing emerging leaders, expanding networks of opportunity, and supporting the aspirations of young Pakistanis across the country.

One of the most promising indicators of the program’s success lies in its contribution to career transitions and job placement. 40% of the interns of our PUAN National Internship Program received a job offer upon completing their internships. Of those offered roles, 66.67% accepted positions immediately, reflecting strong alignment between interns’ skills and host organizations’ needs. These opportunities included: Full-time employment, Part-time roles and Project-based collaborations.

This remarkable conversion rate from internship to employment opportunities signals National Internship Program’s growing reputation as our flagship program, one that enables alumni to enter the professional sphere with practical experience and mentor-backed confidence.

PUAN expresses its deep gratitude to all 38 mentors who volunteered their time, expertise, and guidance, providing invaluable handholding, professional insight, and consistent support to their interns. Their dedication played a pivotal role in shaping a meaningful learning experience and enabling young participants to confidently navigate their career paths.

As PUAN continues to invest in youth leadership and professional development, the success of the 2025 program reaffirms the need to scale and further diversify such initiatives. The internship’s outcomes, ranging from skill development to employment, demonstrate that well-structured mentorship can drive real academic, professional, and social transformation.
